The Invasion of Daft Punk

I have a prediction that in a couple years, when the song “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk comes on the radio, we will chuckle and then of course, sing along. Two French guys with helmets performing an electronic repetitious song that pulls you in and then sticks in your head; The perfect combination that moves your song to number one on the international charts and sells 339,000 copies in it’s first week in the U.S.. Sure we might hate this song a decade from now, but today it’s repeating in our heads and Daft Punk is topping the charts.

The new Daft Punk album “Random Access Memories” is their first album to reach #1 on the U.S. Billboard chart. Digital downloads soared at 229,000 this past week making the efforts of these two helmeted musicians a true invasion.
