Discover Lauren Aquilina – Watch her video for “Fools” & “Sinners”

Lauren Aquilina I’m coming to New York in August! Tickets for that are on sale now. As for the rest of the US I’m hoping next year.. Still have to finish school! Xx” That is a response left by the UK singer/songwriter Lauren Aquilina to a fan who commented on her Youtube channel. It’s that kind of interaction between this 18 year old budding artist and her fans that has brought her to the place she is now. The Bristol born young girl went to school and worked to raise money in order to release her own EP, independent of any record label at 17. Her fans include Ellie Goulding and Mumford & Sons among others.

Her music is deeper than you would expect from a teenager. Her debut single “Fools” which we are featuring at the top of this entry speaks of the chance sometimes taken in love as she writes, “What if we ruin it all, and we love like fools? And all we have we lose?.”  For her latest EP and the title track Sinners, Lauren penned similar thoughts with “So lets be sinners to be saints And lets be winners by mistake The world may disapprove But my world is only you.” Her vocal handling of such lyrics with skillful piano driven melodies create songs that are personal and rich.lauren-aquilina-sinners
