Jonas Brothers Break Up? Tour Cancelled Before It Begins

Have the Jonas Brothers broken up? People magazine reported yesterday that the famous trio had cancelled their 19 date tour completely. The highly anticipated event, which was set to begin this Friday in Upper Darby, PA is no longer going to happen. According to the groups spokesperson Jesse Derris, the decision was made following a “deep rift within the band“. Derris confirmed to People that due to a “big disagreement over their music direction” all nineteen of the upcoming tour dates would be cancelled.

It appears the tour is not the only thing in jeopardy, following the reported division among the brothers. The bands first album since 2009 ‘V‘, may also be on the holding block by the look of things. The sudden announcement is sure to take fans by surprise.

The famous brothers have kept any division within the group well hidden, with several outings together last month and even tweeting about their upcoming tour as recently as Tuesday. Supporting act Bonnie Mckee is also missing out. The singer and songwriter, who has penned many of Katy Perry’s hit songs, was set to be the opening act for the Jonas Brothers on their upcoming tour. She tweeted “Hey guys sad 2 say my tour w @jonasbrothers has been canceled! But I will be out 2 see u all very soon- I have a super fun show ready” this past Wednesday on her Twitter account.

Just three weeks ago the brothers got together in Las Vegas to celebrate Nick Jonas turning 21, with everyone appearing to get along. Both Joe and kevin were in attendance, as well as Kevin’s pregnant wife. Hopefully this means the “rift” within the group is strictly from a business standpoint. The bands spokesman could not give any clear input on what the future may hold, simply stating “It remains to be seen“.

The New Jersey born brothers started way back in 2005 after gaining popularity through the Disney Channel. They have released four albums, appeared in their own Disney Channel show and toured the world to sell out crowds. Recently Kevin started his own reality show with is wife Danielle called “Married to Jonas”. The couple are expecting their first child in early 2014.

Fans who have purchased tickets, have been promised a full refund at the point of purchase. We will have to wait and see if there is any direct response from the brothers themselves over the next few days. Although they have been open in recent interviews about differences within the group and the decision to regroup for their latest album, no one expected anything so big as to cancel the tour before it even begins.
