Duck Dynasty Are Taking Over The Holidays With A Christmas Album

Duck Dynasty and the Robertson family are proving themselves to be a powerful presence in the entertainment industry. Even if you don’t frequent their reality televsion show on A&E, you’ve most likely encountered this hairy bunch some where or another. Their bearded faces are on just about everything from magazines, books, advertisements and yes, brace yourself; A Christmas Album. Making history this year by being the most-watched nonfiction cable telecast in history evidently was not enough, Duck Dynasty is set to take over the Christmas season as well with, Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas.

You gotta love ’em even if you disagree with the length of their beards or their outspoken beliefs. The gentle crew from West Monroe, Louisiana mean no harm and are providing the kind of the laughter and entertainment that was experienced last during episodes of, The Waltons. How can you not like Si Robertson with his crazy ways and that overused Tupperware tumbler?

For the record, the album actually has a few songs on it that could become favorites for years to come; if you like country music that is. Yes, Willie and the gang all appear on the album, along with a few special guests like Luke Bryan, George Strait, Josh Turner and Alison Krauss. There are traditional songs (some with Duck Dynasty alterations) and original material as well. One song in particular is titled “Hairy Christmas” featuring Luke Bryan.

Remember now, you probably thought “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” wouldn’t last either years ago. Billboard have tapped the Duck Dynasty’s Christmas venture to top at least the top 5 debut spot by this Sunday. I have a feeling it’s going to do a lot better than that. The reality TV show will air their Christmas special December 11th 10//9c on A&E.
