The Fault In Our Stars Opens Today! #TFIOS Goodie Bag.

It took author John Green ten years to complete his fourth novel and a few months for 20th Century Fox to film it, but The Fault In Our Stars may set records in just a weekend starting today, June 6th.

The novel on which the movie is based, was published back on January 10, 2012 and debuted at number-one on The New York Times Best Sellers list. Green began work on The Fault in Our Stars in 2000 after serving as a student chaplain in a children’s hospital, and explains: “I wanted to write a story about young people who were like many of those I had met in the hospital – who were funny, full of life and great fun to be around. I also knew that I wanted The Fault in Our Stars to be a love story…”

The film, whose main characters are played by Divergent stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort (pictured above), is about two extraordinary teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them—and us—on an unforgettable journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous, given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group.

Fandango has already reported that TFIOS has set a new record for pre-sale ticket orders in the romantic drama genre. With positive reviews, which includes getting four stars from both The New YorK Times and Rotten Tomatoes, the young drama appears to have the capacity to do better than originally expected and set to become a classic.

We wanted to get in on the fun as well, so we’ve loaded you up with a bunch of goodies to help you get in the mood for tonight’s opening. Within this post you’ll find the official HD trailer, a few of the stellar songs which are part of the amazing movie soundtrack and a great little video from one of our favorite YouTubers, Hannah Hart. Thursday she uploaded her video, The Hemmingway Challenge ft. (TFIOS author) John Green! to her YouTube channel and it’s just perfect.

The Book, the movie and the soundtrack are all getting attention and rightfully so. The record is full of young musical artists like Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Birdy and more, that are perfect not only for their singing abilities, but in relation to the targeted demographic as well. Sheeran released his contribution, “All Of The Stars” via its official music video on May 9th.

We can’t get enough of the UK’s Charli XCX and were so excited when we found out her latest song “Boom Clap” also made the album. It was a good sign that the upcoming film had some happy parts. Bring your tissues for this one friends.

18 year old English singer/songwriter Birdy can be heard twice on the films soundtrack and hopefully it helps to get her all the way in the door here in the states. She is simply amazing and writes and sings well beyond her years. Below is the video for her song, “Not About Angels”.
