New Harry Potter Short by J.K. Rowling Awakens Fans

Proof that neither the fans nor author J.K. Rowling herself are ready to leave the wizarding Harry Potter behind for good, the magical creator penned a new short featuring the “chosen one” today on the Pottermore website. The response to the news that Rowling had written something new about the adult wizard and his companions, caused the site to temporally crash this morning.

Written as a news article on the Quidditch World Cup, by Rita Skeeter in The Daily Prophet, there is mention of the almost 34 year old Potter, Ron whose hair is “thinning slightly”, Hermione Granger and the rest of Dumbledore’s Army of six.

Like running into an old friend at the metro, seeing those names in story format for the first time in seven years, is sure to re-kindle a desire to visit the books once again. It’s also perfect timing to gets fans excited about today’s (July 8th) opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley expansion, at Universal theme park in Orlando, Florida.
