Kendall Jenner Continues To Make Her Mark With Estée Lauder

Kendall Jenner was named the new face of Estée Lauder this past weekend, adding to her rocket-ride to stardom within the world of beauty and fashion. The 19 year old has blazed quite an incredible trail this year alone, since she first walked the runway for Marc Jacobs this past February. Her haute couture debut at Chanel quickly followed, as did her first high-profile advertising campaign for Givenchy fall/ winter 2014. She has since walked for leading designers such as Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, and graced the red carpets of the world’s most fashionable events including the Met Gala, Cannes Film Festival and MTV Video Music Awards.

Kendall shared the news with her Twitter followers Saturday November 15th, which included a fashion shot of herself in a black leather jacket, seated on a Triumph motorcycle. Talking about the news she said, “It honestly feels like a dream to represent such an iconic beauty brand — it is an incredible honor and quite humbling. “I found out when I was backstage at Paris fashion week, and all this time I’ve had to keep the news top secret. I am so excited to share it now and be part of Estée Lauder.”

Kendall has already worked with some of the industry’s most influential fashion photographers such as Patrick Demarchelier, Mert & Marcus, Mario Sorrenti and Mikael Janssen, and has appeared in magazines from the avant garde Love to fashion bible Vogue Paris, W and an eight-page editorial in Interview that crashed its website when it went live. This December, she is appears in a 13 page fashion feature for Vogue magazine.

Although not everyone was excited about the news of the young Jenner becoming the face of the iconic cosmetic brand, there is no denying that her ability to impact millions of young girls and possibly their choices at the counter, is a smart business move. Estee’s Facebook page had a varying array of both negative and positive comments following the news. Some informing the company that there were several other young woman who, “would be better” like say Emma Watson or Suki Waterhouse. Another visitor took a more numbers approach – “Although EL may lose some long dedicated customers they may have gained a potential of 25 million+ of Kendall Jenner and her family followers from FB, twitter, and IG.”

One thing is for sure, Kendall Jenner has the goods when it comes to both the runway and print. Her look is appealing in everything from high fashion, to the kind of everyday attire you’d expect from a young woman her age. No matter what one may think of the family/empire from which she comes, on her own, she is making quite a mark.
