Lily Elise Gets Our Attention With Her New Single “Generator”

Last April when we talked with DJ/Producer Felix Cartal about his single, “Let It Go“, we couldn’t help but tout the amazing vocals from Lily Elise. With a vocal versatility that moves comfortably between pop and R&B, we knew then to keep our eye on her. This week the time has come for the music world to get to know her on her own, as she releases the first track from her upcoming new EP Taken.

The lead single, “Generator” is a swirling, funky, R&B pop track that is sure to awaken music lovers to Lily’s musicality. Elise meets the demand that is present in the market today, by delivering enough of a dark edge in her latest single to capture fans on both sides of the fence, including indie lovers of artists like BANKS and Lorde.

Her new EP Taken, out early 2015 will hold five tracks and are “a culmination of two years of hard work,” shares Elise. They tell a story of struggling to find myself in the midst of an unknown career path and a destructive relationship, from beginning to end. They are my babies and while I’m terrified to push them out of the nest, I’m also extremely proud and excited to watch them fly.”

“I’ve always been an artist,” explains Elise. “I want to perform, and I want to make people feel something. I want to hear them singing my lyrics back to me. I want to talk to people after shows and get to hear their life stories because they felt one of my songs was about them. I want to inspire a little girl like me to believe she can do anything. I want to change people’s lives. That is, after all, what music is for.”

One to watch and an EP to own.
