James Franco Gets Serious In ‘True Story’ Trailer As killer Christian Longo

James Franco gets serious in the trailer for the upcoming legal drama, True Story, as convicted killer Christian Longo. Starring alongside Jonah Hill, who plays New York Times reporter Michael Finkel, the boys leave the jokes at home in this Brad Pitt produced film based on actual events.

Directed by Robert Goold, True Story covers the relationship between a man accused of killing his wife and three children in Oregon in 2001 and the reporter he would choose to tell his story. The movie, which is due in theaters in Spring 0f 2015 aslo stars Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Gretchen Mol (HBO’s Boardwalk Empire) and Betty Gilpin (Nurse Jackie).

True Story will be a departure from what movie goers are used to when it comes to a film containing James Franco. Time will tell if his most recent venture in comedy, The Interview, will ever be released at all. Co-starring Seth Rogen, the film became a concern when a group claiming to be associated with North Korea, hacked into Sony’s parent computer leaking private emails and threatening harm if the movie was shown.
