Who would have thought giving a guy a stick of gum could be so touching. If you’ve seen the Wrigley’s Extra Spearmint gum commercial lately called, “The Story of Sarah & Juan”, you know what we mean. Cute scenes of boy meets girl, girl offers up some gum, so boy proposes – are tied together with a beautiful cover of the Elvis Presley hit, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.

If you’re wondering “who’s singing” on the Extra Gum commercial, we’ve got the answer. It’s American Idol alumni, Haley Reinhart. She finished third in the shows tenth season back in 2011.

The Commercial: Extra Spearmint Tv Ad “The Story of Sarah & Juan”

The cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Haley for the Extra TV ad, is captivatingly enchanting. It didn’t go unnoticed either, the original YouTube video, which is an extended version of what is seen on the TV, grabbed the attention of viewers immediately. To date, since it’s October 7th upload the video has received over 12 million views.

According to Billboard, the single was downloaded thousands of times and even debuted No. 48 on their Digital Songs chart.

In October, the 25 year old singer/songwriter posted on her Facebook page that the single had reached number one on the Spotify United States Viral 50 chart.

Haley released her debut album Listen Up in 2012. Since then she’s released several covers, performed at festivals and is working on a sophomore record. Currently she is on a North American tour with PostModern Jukebox.

Besides her work in music, the LA based Reinhart is also busy providing the voice of Bill Murphy in the upcoming Netfilx animated series, F is For Family.
