Cecily Strong Opens SNL Speaking French and English For Paris

Saturday Night Live decided to do their cold opening a bit different for their November 14th episode. Cast member Cecily Strong, who has been part of the show for a little over three years now, opened the evening with a touching message of support for the city of Paris; which we spoke in both English and French.

With no extra commotion and the camera fixed on Strong, the 31 year old American actress and comedian, shared this with the audience.

“Paris is the city of light. And here in New York City, we know that light will never go out. Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you,”

She then repeated the statement, speaking in very fluent French.

” Paris est la ville de la lumière . Et ici, à New York , nous savons que la lumière ne sera jamais sortir . Notre amour et de soutien est avec tout le monde ce soir . Nous sommes avec vous , “
