NBC’s Saturday Night Live Gets Boost From Trump & Trump & Trump

Donald Trump wasn’t afraid at all that those protesting his appearance on Saturday Night Live this week, would actually have an effect. Leading up to his appearance on NBC’s weekend comedy show, the presidential candidate promised the ratings would be “through the roof” – and it looks like he was right, yet again.

Early reports from the weekend put SNL’s ratings at their highest, since January 2012. That means that the swooping haired Donald beat out a string of stars and celebrities who have hosted the show in over three years; including the episode hosted by Miley Cyrus with special guest Hillary Clinton.

If one Trump wasn’t enough, during his opening monologue the GOP candidate was joined by two other Donalds played by SNL impersonators, Taran Killam and Darrell Hammond.

Possibly the biggest laugh during that opening came from actor/comedian Larry David. Taking advantage of a reward promised by the shows protesters for anyone who caused a disruption, David shouted “You’re a racist” from off camera.

The reviews are still out on whether or not the show got high marks when it comes to the actual comdey, but one thing is certain – NBC made a smart move when it came to ratings.
