Get Ready For America’s Got Talent New Season And New Judge Simon Cowell

Guess who’s joining the judges table on this season’s America’s Got Talent? Simon Cowell! Not that he’s not good at it, but do we really need Simon back judging people’s ability to do whatever it is they do? The answer of course is, yes. Who tells someone they stink at singing, dancing, etc. better than the ice man himself.

For the shows upcoming 11th season on NBC, the former American Idol judge will sit alongside previous season judges Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum.

In case you didn’t know, the show was actually created by the English entertainment mogul. The 56 year old Cowell conceived the television format back in 2005, with the American version getting the first run in 2006. The ‘Got Talent’ franchise is owned by Simon’s SYCOtv company.

Who better to join the cast than both the show’s creator and an experienced judge himself. Cowell shared his excitement on his new venture with AGT, saying “I am really thrilled to be joining ‘America’s Got Talent’ next season,” said Cowell. “What I love about this show is that it’s open to absolutely anyone. America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!

Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, at NBC Entertainment also shared his thoughts recently when he stated, “As the creator of the ‘Got Talent’ format, he genuinely loves the show more than anyone and is uniquely qualified as we take ‘AGT’ into its next decade,” adding, “We can’t wait to see the incredible acts the show will uncover as we head into season 11.”

America’s Got Talent premieres Tuesday, May 31 at 8/7c on NBC.
