2017 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition – My Driveway and Instagram Want This!

You know something is awesome when you’re first thought upon seeing it, is to both own it and snap a photo to put on your Instagram account. I know, that sounds very vain, but anyone living in the 21st century knows it to be true. Take the new 2017 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition supercar, this beauty is made for driving and having its picture taken.

Ford Motor Company’s new Ford GT, was designed to honor the GT40 Mark II driven to victory by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, at Le Mans in 1966. Perfect timing you’d say, seeing that the Ford racing team just won this year’s Le Mans in their class as well.

The Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition with unique black and silver-stripe livery, “features a Shadow Black exterior which comes in either gloss or matte finish, with silver stripes and exposed carbon fiber package. The car sports Frozen White #2 hood and door graphics, and 20-inch one-piece forged aluminum wheels in a gold satin clearcoat with black lug nuts”.

Although the design honors the 1966 GT, the 2017 Heritage Edition fits perfectly right here in the 21st century. As Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager for the car stated in the press release, “While the looks are distinctly based on the GT40 Mark II race car”…“we’ve accentuated new styling cues to provide a modern interpretation.”

Now something of this caliber certainly can’t be expected to roll out in huge numbers. The No. 2 race car Edition is limited to the 2017 model year only.
