NEW BAND! Amber with their first ever single “Noah”

Upon first listen of the track from the new band Amber, you’ll think it’s another Mumford & Son’s song; but it’s not. The five young men who met at the University in Nottingham, just recently formed around the end of 2012 and “Noah” is their one and only single thus far. Will Jones, Tomas Sperring, Joshua Keogh, Henry Wyeth and Felix Archer met and are apparently still in college. They are also unsigned. The single “Noah” is off of their debut EP which is due out July 22nd. Their video for the new song which premiered with VeVo just 6 days ago on July 4th, has gained over 30,000 views and a buzz has taken off across the internet this week.

On June 15th they performed a live session on The Beat at the BBC, heard on BBC Radio Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and Lincolnshire. The buzz around this lead debut single is impressive and could mean instant success for the five man band. Amber separate themselves from Mumford with the inclusion of more drums and less stringed instruments, leading to more of a pop sound than folk. Sitting at that junction quite nicely makes this band’s single something fresh among a growing trend of artists that play folk/alternative style music.
