Berzerk Video Redeems Eminem From ESPN Fail (NSFW)

Eminem redeems his ESPN issues from this past weekend, with the release of his new music video for “Berzerk” today. Slim proves again why he dominates in the world of rap and pop for that matter. Never keeping with one style and constantly changing, the “Lose Yourself” rap star re-visits his Marshall Mathers 90’s style rap, with a little bit of the attitude that made him famous. Joined by producer Rick Rubin, Eminem spends most of his time rapping in front of a super-sized boom box, spitting lines like “Let’s take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch, I’m bout to bloody this track up, everybody get back“. It’s the perfect compliment to this “old school” style track and one his fans should love.

The hook on this first single from Eminem’s upcoming album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, due out November 5th, is brilliantly addictive. The added Beastie Boys-esque production, along with the videos retro visual, will appeal to die-hard fans, as well as the pop crowd that usually don’t like “rap” but love Shady. What “Love The Way You Lie” did in the pop world back in 2010, “Berzerk” feels like it could do in the present. Like we said, the ESPN thing…just a bad day.

It will be fun to see what the views are for the video come morning, with YouTube showing over one million in the first six hours alone. You can buy the single “Berzerk” now at itunes.
