Lady Antebellum Release New Single “Compass” (Listen)

Even if you don’t listen to country you know of Lady Antebellum. The country-pop trio of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood have had several of their songs in the Top 40 over the years. One in particular, that has most likely gotten stuck in your head. “It’s a quarter after one, I’m a little drunk and I need you now” are the lyrics from the bands second number one hit back in 2009, “Need You Now”. The band are releasing a new deluxe version of their most recent album Golden and have written the new single “Compass” to be included on it. The album is due out this November.

Lady Antebellum have a knack for writing great sing-a-long songs and this latest track fits nicely in the pack. “Compass” hit iTunes yesterday October 1st and is a song about staying true to your heart. Telling Rolling Stones “It’s a personal message, not a preachy one” with the inspiring lyrics “So let your heart sweetheart be your compass when you’re lost, And you should follow it wherever it may go”. Like “Need You Now” and “I Run To You” there’s enough pop in this country song to draw the attention of mainstream listeners and be enjoyed by all.

It’s the perfect song for Wednesday and our song of the day for October 2nd, 2013.
