New! Ed Sheeran Song Debuts At Madison Square Gardens (Video)

First, thank you to YouTube user 4TheKA for posting this fan video, of Ed Sheeran’s first of three Madison Square Garden concerts from October 29th. The ginger pop/folk singer surprised the crowd, of what seemed to be mainly screaming girls, with the first ever live version of his favorite song from his upcoming new record. It appears to be called “”Tenerife Sea” and was written after Ed was in a certain situation during the Grammy’s.

The UK singer/songwriter recently ended his support of Taylor Swifts ‘Red’ tour and is at MSG headlining his own much shorter version. Taking over Madison Square for three nights, Ed had no problem filling up the arena musically with just his tiny guitar and loop pedal. He also proved effective in getting an arena of screaming girls to pipe down, for the “Quiet Song” portion of the event.

“Tenerife Sea” does not deviate from what fans have come to love from Ed Sheeran, which is a good sign for the next record. Ed’s songwriting prowess is on full display in this touching ballad as he sings, “And should this be the last thing I see / I want you to know its enough for me / Cause all that you are is all I’ll ever need / I’m so in love”. By the reaction from both the crowd and the internet, its clear he could sell this live version today no problem.
