Ingrid Michaelson Turns Everything Around For “Girls Chase Boys” Video

Singing/songwriting New Yorker, Ingrid Michaelson turns everything around in the new video for her latest single, “Girls Chase Boys”. An homage to Robert Palmer’s “Simply Irresistible” video from 1988, Ingrid puts boys where the girls where looking like girls and girls in the spots where girls were – like I said, it’s different. Of course the 34 year old singer, replaces Palmer with herself and a lot more cleavage.  From her upcoming sixth studio album Lights Out, due out April 15th, Michaelson snaps along one fun and funky pop single.

Ingrid used her Facebook page to help her fans understand how her latest single and video came about on February 4th posting:

“But first let me just tell you where my head was in regards to this song. Girls Chase Boys started out as a break up song but took on a deeper meaning as I continued writing. More than just being about my experience, its focus shifted to include the idea that, no matter who or how we love, we are all the same.  The video takes that idea one step further, and attempts to turn stereotypical gender roles on their head. Girls don’t exclusively chase boys. We all know this! We all chase each other and in the end we are all chasing after the same thing: love. I hope you enjoy it! AHHH!”

The single is available now on iTunes and you can also pre-order the new Lights Out album.
