Bleachers Will Make You Shout “I Wanna Get Better” Standing On The Overpass

What do you do when you’ve already joined a band with whom you’ve written hit songs and won multiple awards? Oooh, oooh, I know! You stay up late at night while touring the world and create a new band in secret, with even better songs. In fairness, time will tell if the new band Bleachers, formed by Fun.’s lead guitarists Jack Antonoff, will top songs like “Some Nights” and “Carry On”, but one thing is for sure; Bleachers debut single will have you “standing on the overpass, shouting “I Wanna Get Better”!

Jersey born former lead singer (Steal Train), turned lead guitartit (Fun.), turned lead singer (Bleachers) – all while songwriting hits with Fun. and co-writing with big names like Taylor Swift (Sweeter Than Fiction) and Sara Bareilles (Brave) – used sleepless nights on the road to write and secretly record music for his own album, due out this Summer. He’s stated in interviews that he is still part of his current band and working towards starting a new album real soon. But for now it’s all about his infectious debut, that has fans shouting along at concerts, “I Wanna Get Better, Better, Better” and a promotional tour that will see him performing at festivals and sponsored venues from April till October.

The official video for his 80’s Pop-Rock anthem was directed by his girlfriend, filmmaker and actress Lena Dunham. You’ll recognize a few familiar supporting actors in the visual line up, with Antonoff playing a therapist. The single is currently climbing the Billboard Alternative Songs chart at #11 and we expect it to become one of the top sing along tracks this summer.

We’re shouting along with Bleachers new hit and you can too, it’s our Song of The Day for April 24th, 2014.
