MAGIC!’s ‘Rude’ Hit’s #1 On Billboards Hot 100 After Long Haul

It’s been a long haul for LA based Magic! and their upbeat, reggae style pop single “Rude” since it’s release at the end of last year. Good news came this week, when it became the one song to finally dethrone Iggy Azalea and hit #1 on Billboards Hot 100 chart.

The Australian has taken over both the airwaves and the charts this summer, with her “Fancy” track, (ft.Charli XCX) sitting pretty at the top of the Billboard chart for seven weeks! The Canadian pop band helped to drop her down a notch (#2), with their catchy song about a guy frustrated over a father’s refusal to give his blessing in taking his daughters hand in marriage.

The song has been a hit internationally, going double platinum in Australia and Canada. MAGIC is made up of the Canadian foursome Mark Pelli, Ben Spivak, lex Tanas and lead singer Nasri Atweh. Nasri is well known in the music world, as the second member of the Grammy award winning songwriting/production team, The Messengers. Having worked with artists such as Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Iggy Azalea, Chris Brown, JoJo, Jason Derulo, Cody Simpson and more, it’s no wonder the bands first single made it to the top.

We loved it back in December 2013 and now it’s clear everyone else does too. Congratulations to Magic!
