Dope RED BAND Trailer – “Gotta Find The White People” (Watch)

The upcoming film from director Rick Famuyiwa, ‘DOPE’ has been turning heads ever since it debuted at this years Sundance Festival. Leading up to its June 19th opening in theaters, critics are raving and that attention is growing. Giving it yet another pat on the back, ‘DOPE’ was also selected as the closing film for the Directors’ Fortnight section, at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival this month (May).

The original trailer was a bit subdued and rightly so, of course we didn’t think a movie about teenagers was going to be without some explicit language. Stuff you can’t air on network television. Open Road Films released the official RED BAND trailer this week – letting you in on the ‘spice’ of DOPE.

Favorite line from the trailer: “Gotta find the white people“.

In DOPE, Malcolm (Shameik Moore) is carefully surviving life in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles while juggling college applications, academic interviews, and the SAT. A chance invitation to an underground party leads him into an adventure that could allow him to go from being a geek, to being dope, to ultimately being himself. (©Open Road Films)
