The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a new baby girl and they displayed her proudly in London just 10 hours after delivery. The Duchess looked amazingly fabulous, considering just 12 hours earlier she entered St. Mary’s Hospital, ready to give birth to her second child.

UPDATE: Royal baby is named – Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and will be known as ‘Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge’.

Catherine delivered her daughter on Saturday morning at 8.34am, with an official weight of 8lbs and 3oz. The little Royal, who was swaddled in a white blanket and wearing a white hat was delivered in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, just like her older brother, Prince George of Cambridge.

The announcement that Kate had given birth was put up on the website of Kensington Palace and then given a historical announcement by Tony Appleton, the English town crier on the steps of the Lindo Wing.

Royal fans were lined up outside Buckingham Palace to have a turn seeing the official declaration of birth, which was displayed on an golden easel. The certificate read, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge Was Safely Delivered of a Daughter at 8:34am Today. Her Royal Highness and Her Child are Both Doing Well“.

William, who was dressed in a royal blue v-neck sweater and blue pants, accompanied his wife and new baby daughter as they emerged from the hospital at around 6pm Saturday evening.

Kate looked more like a visitor than someone who had just delivered a baby, seen wearing a floral knee length dress and heels. Her hair looked exceptionally well, and her dangling earrings became visible each time she pushed her hair behind her ears.

Earlier in the day, proud papa William was seen with the couples adorable 22-month-old son Prince George, when he was brought to the hospital to see his new sister.

The Duke and Duchess left the hospital Saturday evening and returned home to Kensington Palace. The Palace released a few statements on their official Twitter feed stating, “Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank all staff at the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received. They would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes”.

The new princess is fourth in line for the throne.
