What’s The Song On The Hateful Eight Trailer?

Who doesn’t want to see Quentin Tarantino’s new western The Hateful Eight, after watching the official trailer on tv? From Samuel L. Jackson, to Kurt Russell, to Jennifer Jason Leigh and more, it’s one shoot-em up thrill ride for sure. That trailer song probably caught your attention as well.

If you’re wondering, what’s the song on The Hateful Eight trailer, we’ve got the answer. It’s called, “Hold On (I’m Comin)” and is performed by the Cleveland rock ‘n roll group, Welshly Arms.

The Trailer – The Hateful Eight (Official Trailer)

The synthy, blues infused, thumping track playing along to all that kick-ass gun-slinging, comes from Welshy Arms. The four man band from Ohio is made up of Sam Getz, Brett Lindemann, Jimmy Weaver, and Mikey Gould.

“Combining their love of blues, with rhythm and soul & good ol’ rock and roll”, Welshly Arms did one sweet cover of the 1966 hit song, “Hold On (I’m Comin)”. That’s right, the song you’re hearing in the trailer is actually a cover of a hit single from soul duo, Sam Moore and Dave Prater. It reached the number 21 spot on the Billboards Hot 100 way back in the mid sixties.

It’s the perfect match to Tarantino’s whacked out western visual, with all that cow-hide and those whiskered up cowboys.

Although Welshly Arms released their self titled debut album in May of 2015, the song used in The Hateful Eight trailer comes from their “Covers” EP, release in 2014. Which is good news, if you’re loving it as much as we are. You won’t find it on the official movie soundtrack.

We think you should see the movie and check out the band – looks and sounds like you’ll enjoy them both. Get the track on iTunes.
