Percy Jackson Star Logan Lerman Stars In ‘Indignation’ Based on Philip Roth Novel

Twenty-four year old actor Logan Lerman, has been proving his ability to command a screen no matter what size the part, from his lead role in the Percy Jackson movies, to the son of Russell Crowe’s character in Noah and alongside Brad Pitt in, Fury. It was his role with Pitt, playing the young Pvt Norman Ellison that garnered him much deserved attention.

This July, the California born actor will take the lead role again in the upcoming drama from Roadside Attractions, Indignation.

The James Schamus directed film is based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Philip Roth. The movie “takes place in 1951, as Marcus Messner (Logan Lerman), a brilliant working class Jewish boy from Newark, New Jersey, travels on scholarship to a small, conservative college in Ohio, thus exempting him from being drafted into the Korean War. But once there, Marcus’s growing infatuation with his beautiful classmate Olivia Hutton (Sarah Gadon), and his clashes with the college’s imposing Dean, Hawes Caudwell (Tracy Letts), put his and his family’s best laid plans to the ultimate test” (Roadside Attractions).

The film had its premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah on January 24, 2016. Set to open in theaters on July 29th, this could be the movie that clears away all the background noise and gives movie-goers a chance to truly recognize Logan as a powerful leading actor. Which could translate into turning him into a full-fledged movie-star.
